    Absolutely awesome man, it's almost mixing those ancient traditional internal martial arts concepts with the shapes of a contemporary martial art. I have been boxing for a good 6 or so years now, and obviously I want to keep improving my technique for ever, but all in all I am happy with my technique and have been wanting to explore different concepts to mix in with it. And something I have always been interested in is the relaxation and "chi" of traditional martial arts. I'm not sure about you, but have you ever felt the punch of a guy who is thoroughly into Wing Chun and has the mind force? It's fucking incredible and extremely hard to believe/explain unless you feel it for yourself? It's like a power from another planet. That is something I want to try and cultivate in boxing movements and am wondering if it is possible. I know lots of those old eastern martial arts have super slow forms where they cultivate this kind of relaxation/mind power, so I am wondering if you could cultivate the same kind of power through super slow shadow boxing.

    How much weight - the plate? Im thinking about complete landmine workouts for power etc..... should I get like 45 lbs and a 10 lbs... or 35 lbs or... ahhhh 😂😅 what should I get?

    • @FirstStrikeAthletics
      @FirstStrikeAthletics Місяць тому

      The one in this video is only 25lbs if I remember correctly. Remember Power = Force x Speed so you want to be able to do the movement quickly. For Max Strength you'll want to add some weight.

      @@user-vy6tb7ot6x well let's put it this way- I work out every day pretty much so I do dynamic stretching as part of my warm up and static stretching after. I usually do the stretches before and after every class I teach, which is between 2-6 classes a day. The only thing I don't do daily is PNF stretching; that's 1-2 a week max.

      Not necessarily. You’ll see that more in boxing or other styles that don’t have leg kicks. Most Nak Muay keep the legs shoulder width apart, and body is usually more squared up. Not everyone all the time, but more of general rule.

    I flatten them out on the "pencil sharpener thingy" at the gym. It's hard to describe, but you may know what I'm talking about. It's just a little clip that you stick one end of the wrap in, then just start rolling it up. The motion is just like using an old school pencil sharpener. I untangle and dry them just like you described. Then, in the morning, I take them down, throw them in my bag, and roll them up nice and neat at the gym, then put them on from the roll. Saves time!
